Weldamax & Hamisa Industrial Supplies (Pty) Ltd is a Black Owned and Black-Managed Level 2 BBBEE company. As a distributor and Integrated Welding Solutions supplier, our key thrust is our delivery service, our customer-focused interaction, and the quality of our technical solutions.
A Strong Alliance
Weldamax & Hamisa was born by combining the expertise of 4 industrial heavyweights, making us a formidable player in the Gas and Welding Industry. Unique Welding, from its humble beginnings more than 30 years ago, successfully gained new large corporate gas accounts in partnership with Air Products and Easigas, whilst Hamisa established itself as a solid credible supplier of welding products to companies such as Transnet. The CEO’s of both entities have a long-standing relationship and decided to create a black owned company that would combine the skills and competencies of both entities. We now provide large corporations with a national supply of industrial gases and welding products that require a level 1 or 2 black owned supplier.
The Chairman, who is the CEO of Weldamax, Nazmi Adams, has more than 25 years’ experience in the gas and welding industry. He was previously General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Afrox, an Afrox Board Member, and Global Head of the BOC Group Industrial Gases Business based in London.
Hamisa shareholders and executives, Stephen Phalatse and Bongile Tsotetsi, started their business 8 years ago and have built a solid experience in servicing large corporations, such as Transnet, with a multi-million Rand welding consumables supply contract.
Weldamax Hamisa have also secured an alliance with the largest LPG player in the market, Easigas. They are the current supplier of LPG in cylinder format to Weldamax Hamisa. Easigas enjoys many large national operations with brands like Distell, Tiger Brands, Consol, BMW, and Mondi to name a few. Easigas implement global logistics practices, ensuring that they remain a world-class supplier of LPG, with world-class safety standards. Air Products alliance came about as a result of Air Products’ long-term relationship with Unique Welding, and their keen interest in supporting the new joint venture company. Air Products and Chemicals employs over 20,000 employees and operates in over 30 countries worldwide. Air Products South Africa (Pty) Ltd was registered as a private South African controlled company in 1969. The Company has grown rapidly over the last 45 years. By utilising its world class production and distribution facilities, Air Products has become the largest manufacturer and supplier in the on-site and pipeline gas market, as well as a leader in the field of Bulk, Cylinder, Speciality Gas and Chemicals.
The emergence of Weldamax & Hamisa Industrial Supplies brings a new force in the industrial gases market. This is a truly black-owned and black-managed company that is supported by a global gas company committed to economic transformation.
